2D Strike io is a top-down multiplayer shooter with quick matches, simple movement and a surprisingly large set of gear. It looks basic, but there is plenty to mess with once a round gets going.

How to play

Pick your loadout before entering the arena, then keep moving. Standing around is a pretty reliable way to get caught by another player. 2D Strike io gives you three weapon slots, plus grenades, medkits and a turret, so switching gear at the right moment matters almost as much as aim. Reload whenever there is a quiet second instead of discovering an empty magazine in the middle of a fight.

The maps also have destructible objects, while turrets and barricades can change how an area is played. Running straight at every opponent works sometimes, sure, but using cover and watching the space around you is usually less painful.

Tips

• Reload before moving into a busy area
• Switch weapons instead of waiting when your current one is empty
• Use a medkit when you have room to back away from opponents
