BlobClash io is a multiplayer arena game with shooting, character evolution and 25 levels. You start as a little blue blob and gradually turn it into something much more dangerous. The classes are the interesting part.

How to play

Break shapes scattered around the map to earn XP, or go after other players. Pink stars near the centre give the most XP, and gold orbs belong to whoever reaches them first. At levels 5, 10 and 15 you can evolve into a new class. There's a decent choice: fast shooters, huge blobs with heavy shots, automatic turrets and even summoners with little spirits doing the work for you.

BlobClash io gets harder after level 15. Reaching level 25 takes ages, and losing a fight costs you levels. The good news is that health regenerates when you're out of combat. If you've played Arras io or Diep io, the evolution system will look familiar. Here you can also change your class later, although that sends you back to level 5.

Game modes

Regular matches support up to 25 players. Teams mode splits everyone into red and blue, with points earned by holding the centre. First team to 100 wins. You can also invite friends to a match or create a private room, although private matches don't save progress.

Tips

• Blue power-ups give 50% extra speed, red ones double your damage for 10 seconds
• The leader wears a crown and is worth 50% more XP
• Staying out of combat lets your health recover
